In an unprecedented move, Governor Sanders announced on a fine Tuesday that Arkansas is reclaiming its land from a Chinese company. That’s right, gals, our beautiful state is leading the way in protecting our homeland.

The company in question is Syngenta, a Swiss-based maker of agricultural chemicals, which was gobbled up by the China National Chemical Corporation (CNCC) back in 2017. This CNCC, mind you, is owned by the Chinese government, and we all know what that means. Our dear governor pointed out the obvious – this is a clear threat to our state. The Chinese Communist Party is keen on snatching up intelligence and technology through seemingly innocent assets around the world, and we can’t just stand by and let that happen.

Even the U.S. Department of Defense acknowledges CNCC as one of those “Chinese Military Companies Operating in the United States.” That’s a red flag, folks!

As Governor Sanders rightly put it, “Seeds are technology.” Chinese state-owned companies, underhandedly, funnel our technology back to their homeland, pilfering American research and handing out the blueprint for targeting American farms. Now, that’s a threat to our national security that we can’t ignore.

Let’s make this clear; it’s not about where someone hails from. We’re all about welcoming Chinese Americans with open arms. But we can’t turn a blind eye to China’s 2017 National Intelligence Law, which forces Chinese citizens and corporations to dance to the tune of their state intelligence agencies, even on foreign soil. We’re all about fairness and playing by the same rules.

And that’s not all, my dear readers! Arkansas Republican Attorney General Tim Griffin is joining the party too. He’s slapping Syngenta with a hefty $280,000 civil penalty for not coming clean about their Chinese connections in a timely manner. Way to go, Attorney General Griffin!

This enforcement action is a result of Act 636 of 2023, recently granted by our General Assembly. It empowers our state to keep our lands free from foreign entities with questionable interests. Let’s not forget to give credit to Secretary Wes Ward and the Department of Agriculture for helping uncover the truth about who owns what in Craighead County. Teamwork across state government is what it’s all about.

Now, Governor Sanders, who took office last fall, has been on fire, making sure our conservative values are upheld. She’s been shutting down left-wing indoctrination in our schools, keeping our young ones away from drag shows, and maintaining the sanctity of female school restrooms. Our beloved governor is proving that Arkansas is a beacon of conservatism in our great nation.

And here’s some national perspective for you: While we’re the first state to kick out a current CCP-owned landowner, a whopping 15 states have passed laws in the past year to prevent such ownership. More than 20 other states are also considering similar legislation. We’re not alone in this fight, ladies. It’s time to stand up for what we believe in, for our homes, and for the future of our children.
